Plain terms for a plain job: running a club competition. They say what we provide, what we ask of you, and where responsibility for a season sits.
1. Who these terms cover
These terms are an agreement between MatchHub ("we", "us") and anyone who uses the service: the organisation that sets up a competition, the administrators and team managers it invites, the players on its teams, and anyone reading a public draw or ladder. The privacy policy says who operates MatchHub.
You accept these terms when you create an account. If you act for an organisation, you must have authority to agree for it. You cannot agree for its members. If you are under 16, a parent or guardian must agree before you create an account.
2. What MatchHub does
MatchHub runs club competition: seasons, divisions, draws, rosters, scorecards and ladders, with a public page for each organisation at its own address. We provide the service; the organisation runs the competition. Its rules, eligibility decisions, disputes and results are its own.
3. Accounts
You need an account to manage a team, enter a result or see your own record. One account can belong to several organisations, with a different role in each.
- Keep your sign-in details to yourself and tell us if you think they have leaked.
- Give a name and email address that are really yours.
- You are responsible for what is done from your account, including results entered with it.
An organisation's administrators control who belongs to its workspace. They can add, remove or change the role of any member of their organisation at any time.
4. Acceptable use
Use MatchHub for running and following club sport. Do not:
- enter or alter a result you know to be wrong;
- upload a logo, name or content you do not have the right to use, or that is unlawful or abusive;
- attempt to reach another organisation's private data, or to get around our access controls;
- scrape or bulk-download public pages in a way that puts load on the service;
- use the service to send unsolicited mail.
We may suspend an account or an organisation that breaks these rules, and will tell the organisation's administrators when we do.
5. Your content
Draws, results, rosters, names and logos belong to the organisation and the people they describe. You give us the licence we need to store them, show them to the people you have chosen to share them with, send the reminders you have asked for, and publish the public pages you have published.
Anything an organisation publishes — its draw, its ladder, its verified results — is visible to anyone with the address. Unpublished draws, draft results and the details of a scorecard under query are shown only to the people in that organisation whose role gives them access.
An organisation is responsible for the personal information it adds. It must have a lawful reason to collect and publish it. Before it adds a person, it must tell them what it records, why, and who can see it, and give them the privacy policy. For a junior, it must also tell a parent or guardian. Agreeing to play does not mean agreeing to every use.
Public pages can be read, copied and found by search engines anywhere in the world. Think about this before you publish player names, especially for juniors. Tell us before you publish if a player must not be named in public.
6. Fees
A paid service needs a separate written agreement with the organisation. It states the price, GST, payment dates, service period, and cancellation and refunds. We do not charge without that agreement. These terms do not remove your legal rights to a refund or to cancel.
7. Availability and support
We aim to keep MatchHub available around the clock, and we schedule maintenance away from the evenings and weekends when club sport is played. We do not promise the service will be uninterrupted. Keep another way to record results and contact players in case MatchHub, the venue network or a message fails.
Support is by email at hello@matchhub.nz. We reply on New Zealand business days.
8. Liability
Nothing in these terms limits your rights under the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993, the Fair Trading Act 1986, the Privacy Act 2020 or any other law that cannot be excluded.
Any limit on our liability for a paid service is in its written agreement. We are responsible for our own conduct. The organisation is responsible for running its competition.
9. Ending the agreement
A person can delete their account from the account page. If you are the last administrator, appoint another administrator first, or contact us. An organisation can ask us to close its workspace by email; we export its data on request first, then delete it as described in the privacy policy.
We can end an organisation's workspace with 60 days' notice, or immediately for a serious breach of these terms or for non-payment after notice.
10. Changes to these terms
We will tell the administrators of every organisation by email at least 30 days before an important change takes effect, and the date at the top of this page will change. If you do not agree, you can stop using MatchHub and delete your account before that date. A change does not remove rights you already have.
11. Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of New Zealand, and the New Zealand courts have jurisdiction over any dispute about them. Questions about these terms go to hello@matchhub.nz.
